So great to have all this material archived into one fascinating video. Thank you Panorama Pictures and all involved in putting together this great documentary.
Hello People,
I’d like to know if KLT has any of the older video’s like the one show done at Salmiya Theater (Cinema Hall) in the 80′s, was a mega show and I just seemed to be in it, it was the one with “Rock around the clock” and we also had a break dance number in it…would love to see those.
Thanks
Back in 1960 I was serving in H.M.S. Loch Lomond in the Gulf. We had visited Ahmadi in August and the Ships Company were treated to lavish and very welcome hospitality during our visit. We asked if we could do anything in return and suddenly found ourselves rehearsing for a Christmas Concert as we were told that no Panto was scheduled for that year. We organised a revue type show, all male, complete with ballet dancers, bearded hand-maidens and sundry villians, complete with a glamourous programme seller in the foyer. We played at the KLT for five nights to packed houses, did a Saturday matinee for the youngsters and had a marvellous time doing it. The wonderful people of Ahmadi parted with enough of their hard earned cash for us to sponsor a Guide Dog which was duly named “Mina” and worked until at least 1971. I wonder whether there are any pictures or other memorabilia of the show in your archives, or whether anyone remembers the event/
